Life never travels the path you expect.
From childhood, I've loved to read and write. No matter what life has thrown at me, those two things were constant.
As you can see, constant.
So it's no surprise that when I decided to put myself out on the internet, I chose to create a writing site.
It all started when I was poking around looking for a nonfiction writing resource that went beyond academic writing skills. But I didn't find one. There's a quote in the writing world:
"If you can't find the book you want to read, write it."
Well, for me, it ended up being, "If you can't find the site you want to explore, build it." And I did.
Of course, this is and probably always will be a work in progress. Life changes, rules change, markets change. I will do my best to keep pace. However, if you catch something I missed or want to see some particular topic addressed, please let me know.
I'm not one to share all of my personal business publicly, but will share a bit, so you can better know who I am.
I'm a country girl, born and raised in rural Louisiana.
Though I lived in Memphis, Tennessee, for a hair over ten years, I'm back home now.
I come from a bookish, close-knit family. And, after two failed attempts, finally married a man as bookish as myself (he's also my soulmate and best friend).
My children are grown and kind of roll their eyes when I talk about the site, so you won't hear much about them here or on the Facebook page. Brats (I say this with love, of course).
Thank you for spending time here at Nonfiction Writing Guide. I hope you found what you were looking for. Again, please let me know if there is anything else you wish I would address on the site.
