Using a Pun Lead

Pun leads are not common and it's hard to find information about them. But I did learn a few tips:

[1] Be careful that the pun is not silly.
[2] It must be relevant to your topic.
[3] All puns should be easy to understand.

An example for a cooking article might be:

"All a good meal needs is a little thyme."

For a pet site, it could be something like:

"Some brushes can rub your pet the wrong way."
